Many of the cameras in the collection are box cameras, such as the Kodak Brownie, which have only a single lens with a shutter and no further accessories. They primarily use 120 film for photographs, a square-format roll film that can still be developed today.

There are a few that don't fit within 120 or pack cameras, such as 35mm and other film formats.

The remainder of the collection are primarily pack cameras, such as the Polaroid Land-Camera, where the film and developing agent are contained within the film pack itself. These cameras are much harder to test due to the unique sizing of the pack film required for each camera.
